Shingles are one of the most popular roofing materials that are used in homes. The shingles on roofs are individual pieces that come together to keep you protected. Usage of individual shingles means that sometimes you need to replace a couple of shingles on the roof. Roof repairs can be complicated so let’s take a look at roof repairs for broken shingles.

The first part of the repair process would be to locate the shingles that you need to replace. Regardless of how many shingles are broken, you don’t want to start the repairs until you know what you have to do.

Once you have located the broken shingles you can start to take them off.

Shingles are nailed to the roof, meaning you have to use a tool that can get under the shingle to pry it off. A flat bar is an example of a helpful tool that you can use. When all of the broken shingles are off the roof you can get started placing the new ones on.

Make sure that when you put on the new shingles, they overlap each other. The new shingle should go underneath the one above it. Give each shingle at least four nails and your roof is fixed.
