Almost every homeowner will need to deal with electric repair at some point. While it’s always a good idea to hire an experienced professional, some smaller problems can be sorted out by yourself. This video explains how to find and fix common electrical problems.
The first thing you need is a basic understanding of where the wiring for your electricity is. Start with where your breaker box is and work your way to the nearest outlet to it. This will have a feed of two wires coming from the outlet and then two more wires passing to the next outlets. This will allow you to work your way from wire to wire in sequential order.
Test each outlet as you go until you come to the outlet that isn’t working. This will help you figure out which two outlets the problem is between. Once you find the two outlets, take them out and inspect them. Replace the burned-out outlet with a new one.
Make sure you know which wires are connected to the feed and which are sending power to subsequent outlets. Keep them in order and attach them properly. This will make sure that you have consistent power to the outlet for years down the line.
